Marketers needed a program that integrated search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC), and landing page optimization (LPO) into a single system that helped save time and lowered costs while increasing website traffic and boosting conversion rates.
In 2007, after seeing the growing need for this search engine marketing system, Mike Mann partnered with WashingtonVC.com to form Yield Software. The program simplifies the management of SEO, PPC, and LPO with an easy-to-use interface that optimizes websites for higher rankings in search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo!, while helping increase Web traffic.
Yield Software experienced great success. Within two years the majority of the company was sold to venture capitalist group Draper Fisher and international marketing conglomerate WPP. In 2011, Yield Software was acquired by Autonomy Corporation, a division of Hewlett-Packard. Autonomy has more than 65,000 customers and serves organizations in many sectors with a full suite of online management tools and analytic programs.
